A new and exciting addition to GREENWOOD CRAFTSMAN is our course dates (TBC) starting in Spring 2019. All courses will be run by Richard Ely who has 12 years experience of running his own greenwood and coppice crafts business in East Sussex.
Courses will be available for groups of up to 6 people in:
*Introduction to Greenwood Working
A fun and practical hands-on day introducing you to some of the basic tools and techniques in greenwood working including shavehorse and pole lathe. You will make items to take home with you.
For those of you interested in trying out wood-turning on a pole-lathe for the first time or a chance to improve your skills. Once you try this out you will be hooked!
*Make a sweet chestnut gate hurdle
Your chance to learn how to make a traditional sweet chestnut gate hurdle from coppiced wood using traditional hand tools. A fun and practical day learning many fundamental greenwood skills and techniques to make a useful item for the garden or the field.
